Timberwolf is the project name of the AmigaOS port of the Firefox web browser (for legal reasons it cannot be called Firefox). Firefox is an award-winning open source web browser and is the de-facto-standard browser across a wide variety of operating system, taking second place in popularity after Microsoft' s Internet Explorer. Its features include tabbed browsing, support for HTML 5, ECMAScript 3.1, and CSS 3, extensibility through addons, and a lot more. In short, Firefox is the most complete open source browser to date. | | Bounty: | 6732.72 EUR  Out of 7063.69 EUR originally submitted. |
| Title: | "Online" bugfix: Why bookmarks don't work | | Text: | Just to let everybody know, we're still working on Timberwolf. We are progressing towards the final, feature complete beta. Once complete, only bugfixes and optimizations remain.
One thing that we recently found out is not an actual bug in the code, but an incompatibility issue: Storing of bookmarks will only work if the "RANDOM:" device is mounted. If it's not mounted, no GUIDs can be generated, resulting in an early abort of the bookmarks database creation.
So, to fix the bookmark problem, just move the "RANDOM:" mount entry from storage/DOSDrivers to DOSDrivers, or add a "mount RANDOM:" to the Timberwolf start script. | | Created by: | tfrieden | | Created at: | 20120619 18:06 | | Comments: | 0 | [View Comments] |
